Talk:Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is a hardy, fast growing tree, and for this reason it has been used in reforestation efforts in many countries. However, there are as many proponents as there are critics of Eucalyptus. Critics say that the tree is native to Australia -- why introduce it in faraway countries like India and Bangladesh? Instead, reforestation efforts should use local flora.

[edit] Do eucalyptus trees dry out the soil?

I heard some where that planting eucalyptus trees dries out the surrounding soil- and prohibits other plant/tree types from growing nearby. Im wondering if this a fact?
