It's not just rural poor who benefit from micro credit -- a 2008 scheme, GreenNote in the US is using the same concept to give small loan to American students to help them get through college. The recession in the US has made student credit very expensive, but this organisation, pretty much like the Grameen Bank, uses social networks to finance cheap loans.
