Bacteria

Most bacteria can be categorized into three groups:

• Aerobic bacteria – it thrives in the presence of oxygen and requires it for their continued growth and existence.
• Anaerobic bacteria - it cannot tolerate gaseous oxygen

Facultative anaerobes – prefers growing in the presence of oxygen, but can continue to grow without it.
